Nearly a mile (750 meters) of well-marked nature trails snake their way through Parador’s lush secondary rainforest and showcase the rich and varied flora and fauna indigenous to this area. Beginning just below the spa, the hike will culminate in dramatic cliffs overlooking the wide expanse of Pacific Ocean below. A shorter and less arduous version of the trek is also possible. Wildlife residing in our jungle includes three species of monkeys (Titi, Whiteface, and Howler or Congo), two and three-toed sloths, Anteaters, Agouti, Armadillos, and a wide range of amphibians and reptiles. The elusive Caucel (a wildcat) has also been spotted on our grounds. It is recommended that you wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes and carry water with you.
Parador also offers guided day and night jungle tours which include an experienced certified naturalist, flashlights (for night tour), water and fresh fruit. Rain gear also provided if necessary. Please note that the night jungle is quite dissimilar to the daytime view. An entirely different range of wildlife is unveiled after dark. Please check with the tour desk for times and prices.
